This is soooooo funny! I know my fellow pet lovers would enjoy this as much as I did!

Even if you don't have pets, this is still pretty funny.
The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door.

Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep.. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS :

(1) They live here. You don't. (2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture. (3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.. (4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they (1) eat less, (2) don't ask for money all the time, (3) are easier to train, (4) normally come when called, (5) never ask to drive the car, (6) don't hang out with drug-using people; (7) don't smoke or drink, (8) don't want to wear your clothes, (9) don't have to buy the latest fashions, (10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and (11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

A Visit to emBark-The Doggy Daycare Center!

You can click the picture to enlarge and then hit the back button to come back to my blog!

We recently picked our son up from school and took him to visit emBark, the doggy daycare center located in Eau Claire. What a cool and fun place to go visit! Have you ever had the experience of being in the same room as 62 dogs of all shapes, sizes and colors? It is wild! It is fun and it is a hoot! Now, mind you, these are all very well behaved dogs. There is an interview process the owner of emBark, puts her clients and their pups through and if they are not totally socialized or have any issues, they are not allowed at daycare. Sort of like when your toddler is not potty trained! So, these are all happy, wagging, goofy, loveable dogs.

My son thought he was inside the movie "101 Dalmations"...He had never been around so many dogs at once and he just loved it. You can't help but smile a lot while you are there. The staff at emBark are all so wonderful and you can tell everyone that works there truly has a passion for dogs! The owner even owns three dogs of her own, who of course, go to work with her every day.

Although emBark is in the same line of work as my biz, it is quite different. emBark is daytime dog care out-of-the-home. What we provide is short term in-home pet care. We travel to your home when you are away and take care of your house, your pets, your mail, etc. And there is room in this world for both types of dog care businesses.

I will be posting some video I took at emBark soon. This will give you a better feel for how much fun this place is. But for now I will get some much deserved sleep after an 18 hour work day! ps...emBark's web page is http://www.embarkdog.com/

The Twins Unleashed

Well Pico and Cloudy gave us quite the scare this morning. We are trying to keep them as indoor cats but every now and then they get out. We have gotten into the habit of opening our windows from the top down becasue our screens can fall off easily. I had a window open at the top and somehow the twins were able to jump up, knock the screen off, jump onto a roof and then the most suprising; they jumped off the roof to the ground. I think it is about 15' from the roof to the ground. Ron discovered what had happened when he got up and saw the sreen on the ground. He didn't want to wake me up and have me freak out (which I do when my babies are loose) so he he drove around and around the neighborhood in his jammies! He told Nick not to tell me but I got up and noticed his car was gone and Nick is not the greatest at keeping a secret. So, Ron has been driving around for 45 minutes at the time and I immediately got dressed, went outside and started shaking their box of treats and calling their names. They both popped out of the shrubs and came running to me. Phew. It is when we temporarily loose them that it hits home hard about how much we love them!

Tuffy & Hattie

The purse that got dragged to bed!

Tuffy wants to play!

Is she sad or does she always look like this?

Tuffy gets to play!

A long refreshing drink after an afternoon hike!

Hattie just chilaxin in her chair!

It was such a beautiful day out and Tuffy wanted to be outside so badly, so we put him in the garden for two hours and drove back to put him back in because it was getting hot out. I think he was happy to have been out for awhile but also happy to see us. He is such a cute and loving little guy. He follows us around and likes to be held. Hattie got to go for an extra afternoon walk and enjoyed that. She is getting more and more use to us now. When we stopped by mid-day all her food was gone so she is finally eating and eating well! I think she still misses her mom though. We found that she had dragged her mom's purse into her bed. We didn't have the heart to move it because she must somehow find it comforting! I keep telling her that her owners will be back tomorrow. I plan on leaving some welcome home treats for everyone. Maybe some fresh catnip for Tuffy and some fresh basil for MOM!

Day Two without Mom- Lake Wisotta

Oh Gawd. Where's my mother?

I am so depressed without her! But I will live!!
Hey, I am gonna eat something while I have the chance!

Hey, who are You?
When is my mommy comming home?

Hey, who are you and what are you doing in my house?

I am on hunger strike. I will not eat and I will hold my breath until my Mommy comes home! Hey, just kidding. It ain't so bad! This Ron guy ain't too shabby! If Tuffy likes him, then so do I!

Hey Y'all. Pet sitting this weekend out at a beautiful house in the country near Lake Wisotta for a very cool lady! The yard is amazing. Acres and acres of paths and crickets and birds chirping! Fall at its best! She has a BIG sweet chocolate lab named Haddie and the sweetest little reverse tux cat named Toughy. Toughy likes to sit up around your neck all wrapped around and have you walk around like that! One cool cat! Haddie misses her mom a lot. Last night (first time of pet sit) she didn't want to walk with Ron on the paths. He figured out how to fix this problem this morning. She is use to a leash so he leashed her up and off they went onto the path and walked a bit and then he unleashed her and she was just great. Toughy (or maybe Tuffy) gets put in the fenced in garden twice a day to enjoy the sunshine and then put in before we leave. Above are some pics we snapped. This cool lady has some cool pets for sure. You can always tell when pets are spoiled because they are so smart and so sensitive!

Maybe you need a cat-nap in the cat-nip! This is my cat Mikey. He overindulged in the catnip and fell asleep in the herb garden!

http://www.nowisconsinpuppymills.com/

The "breeder" wears heavy coat and gloves against the WI chill, while the pups huddle together on a wire mesh floor in a wire mesh cage. Yes, that is snow you see on the corrugated metal roof and on the ground.
BUT THAT'S OK, the breeder tells us; "They were outside for a million years. It's only the last 200 that people have been putting 'em in the house."
IS THAT OK WITH YOU?

Just As I Suspected

Ron is getting attached to his current charge. He is only supposed to go to see them three times a day and he is going five times a day. He has earned their friendship and they really look forward to seeing him. He worries about them like our own brood. It is very sweet. I have always told Ron that he has the heart of St. Francis. I am preparing gift bags to leave for our clients upon their return. They have three daughters and the last time we watched their two cats and dog, we left some little treats for the pets for them to give them. They seemed to love that so this time, I am leaving the same but also leaving some little treats for the three girls. I hope they all enjoy the extra touch.

In other news, I updated our About Us page on our website. www.cvhousepets.com. One of our friends mentioned that people might want to see some faces behind the biz. Well, I am sure I went overboard because when I pulled out the old photo album with all the pics of all our various pets through the years, it was all so sentimental to me. Trust me, I could have gone back further, but stopped myself. I was amazed at how many pets we had loved and lost and loved and are still with us! What an inventory moment. I hope all that look at it, enjoy it as we have enjoyed all of our adoptees and living mates!!

Frankie & His Pill in a Blanket

Frankie's so grateful for the visit and the weenie pill. Yes, we let them lick our faces!

Well, aren't I just relaxed about everything!

Frankie eagerly awaits his medication because he knows it is inside a Louis Rich Fat Free Turkey Hot Dog!! Oh Boy...Oh Boy...where's my pill??

Look at his feet coming off the floor. I wish giving cats their meds was this easy!

Hey, I think I am eating out of the wrong dish!

Yes, I glow in the dark!

Whatever.

Here's our babies waiting for us to come back home.
